Frequently Asked Questions

What does tolerance control?

Tolerance determines how similar a pixel's color must be to the source color to be replaced. A low tolerance only replaces exact or very close matches. A high tolerance replaces a wider range of similar colors.

What is anti-aliasing?

Anti-aliasing smooths the edges between replaced and non-replaced areas by blending colors gradually. This prevents harsh, pixelated boundaries and creates a more natural-looking result.

How should I set the tolerance for gradients?

For images with gradients, use a medium to high tolerance (40-70%) so the replacement covers the full gradient range. Enable anti-aliasing for smoother transitions between replaced and original areas.

Can I replace colors in areas with transparency?

Yes. The tool respects the alpha channel. Fully transparent pixels are skipped, and semi-transparent pixels are blended according to their opacity, preserving the original transparency.

What happens when multiple colors are similar to my source color?

The tolerance setting controls which colors are affected. Lower the tolerance to target only the exact shade you want. You can also use the eyedropper to pick the precise source color from the image.
